Match Report
Marlborough College Malaysia 1st XI vs  International School of Myanmar
On: Friday, 24 Nov 2017
Venue: Away

MCM started the game strongly, as they had done all day in their previous games. With the better share of possession and chances, MCM took a deserved lead as pressure from Aiman and Willem saw Myanmar give away possession deep in their own half. One touch from Willem saw him get the ball out of his feet, whilst his second was struck down low, beating the keeper at his near post for 1-0. Shortly after, MCM came unstuck from a freekick on the edge of the box. The strike took a huge deflection off the MCM wall and diverted into the opposite corner of the goal to make it 1-1. Despite some rushed play, MCM regained the lead with a scrappy goal - Aiman punishing the goalkeeper with a strike on the turn after the Myanmar goalkeeper had eagerly rushed out to clear Willem's high ball into the box.

In the second half, MCM again asserted their dominance and relaxed their play. My message to them at half time was simply to breath and relax. A throw into the box saw Henrik have his header tipped onto the post by the goalkeeper, but the ball rebounded inwards and left Kevan with the simplest task of putting the ball into an empty net from mere yards. MCM came away as 3-1 winners and finished day one with a 100% record with only one goal conceded.

MVP - Kevan

Goals - Willem Dortmans, Aiman Ariff, Kevan Singh
