Pool Play

Game 1: MCM vs. Panyathip International School, Laos

After a slow start the boys were able to take a comfortable lead. Defense kept the team in the game and eventually shots started to fall. MCM won the game 30 to 15.

Game 2: MCM vs. British School Manila, Philippines

The eventual winner of the tournament proved to be tough competition for MCM. The teams traded baskets in the first half and defense kept MCM in the game until late in the second half. Key shots weren’t falling for MCM and BSM was able to take advantage and turn missed shots into layups at the other end. In the end MCM lost by a score of 31 to 16.

Game 3: MCM vs. Stree Phuket School, Thailand

MCM jumped out to a quick lead in the first half only to see SPS come back. Good defense allowed MCM to stay in the game in the second half and eventually some shots started to fall for the team. This allowed MCM to take a comfortable lead at the end of the second half and win the game in convincing fashion. The win allowed MCM to earn 2nd place in the pool and punched a ticket to the semi-finals.

Semi-Finals

MCM vs. Bangkok Prep, Thailand

During the game, MCM had a difficult time getting a shot to fall. After jumping out to a 7 to 2 lead, the team allowed 8 straight points to end the first half and trailed 10 to 7. Baskets continued to be hard to come by in the second half but good defense kept MCM in the game. In the end MCM lost by a score of 16 to 20.

Third Place Game

MCM vs. International School Park City, Malaysia

The MCM team that everyone knows and loves finally showed up for this game. Outside shots were falling and the defense was solid. Eric Lee was 5 for 6 from 3 point range and Junior Chong added some key baskets. Caleb Sukh hit his first three of the tournament and Sung Yoon Choi played very good defense along with Adolfo Montoya, Jin Rong Lim, Jun Lee Low and Nicholas Goh.

Throughout the tournament Leo Henon and Luis Llagas came off the bench to give much needed energy and offered great support to their teammates.

The Captain of the team was Junior Chong

The Co-Captain was Eric Lee.
