Match Report
Marlborough College Malaysia Boys-U18A vs  United World College of Southeast Asia - East Coast (UWCE)
On: Saturday, 30 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

After analysing our fixture on Friday, I took the decision to completely change our shape due to the pitch size. I asked an awful lot of the boys to change how we were used to and successful with playing, whilst also introducing some complicated concepts.

Despite this, I could not have been prouder of the boys in the first half. We came in at 2-0 down having conceded easily from two corners which with work we will easily eradicate. But the boys discipline to their new shape, their willingness to work and their adaptability had limited UWC East, who had scored 15 in one match the day before, to two goals from set pieces and little else.

In the second half, the boys put in another good show but again we conceded when perhaps we shouldn't have for 3-0. Throughout the half the boy's performed really well and despite the defeat and the lack of goals, I was really proud of the boys for their commitment and effort and the boy's could see how this new formation suited them even in defeat.
