Match Report
Marlborough College Malaysia Boys-U18A vs  Epsom College in Malaysia
On: Saturday, 14 Oct 2017
Venue: at Home

The boys entered the game with confidence off the back of a good performance in their previous match. From the offset, it was clear that the boy's were all up for the semi-final, that the desire to win was there and that the focus was set.

We started very strongly but what impressed me the most was the boy's attitude to being the dominant team on the pitch in all aspects, their game play but most of all, the use of their voices. After creating chances, holding good shape, I was really pleased with our discipline in creating chances. Again, stretching the pitch was helping us and we learned throughout the game, but could not find the same joy as the previous game. Good hold up play by Kevan in the final third allowed Aiman to find space and on the edge of the box, he let off a fantastic strike which moved away from the goalkeeper and into the top corner.

Shortly afterwards, good solid defending and shape saw us break away with the ball and a clear through ball to Aiman allowed him to run almost uncontested to the goal, having started the run in his own half. As he reached the box, a coming together of bodies with the last man saw Aiman earn MCM a penalty which David left the Epsom goalkeeper with no chance by placing it into the corner for 2-0.

MVP: Aiman - Broke up the play in the opponents half and was a constant thorn in their side and helped us win possession high up the pitch numerous times. Found space constantly, scored a fantastic opening goal and won the penalty with good spatial awareness and another willing run.

Score: 2-0
